SP Balasubrahmanyam health update: Singer shows steady progress; keen on leaving the hospital at the earliest

Playback singer SP Balasubrahmanyam who tested positive for COVID-19 nearly two months ago is showing steady progress. However, the singer is still on ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) and ventilator support. His son, SP Charan, who has been giving regular updates on his health, in a new update on September 22, said that his father is eager to leave the hospital as soon as possible.

“Dad continues the steady progress toward getting better. Ekmo/ventilator, physio therapy continues with oral intake of liquids. He’s been eager to leave the hospital as early as possible (sic),” the update by SP Charan read.

SPB tested positive on August 5 with mild symptoms, However, his condition worsened on August 13 and he was put on ECMO and ventilator support. From the past few weeks the singer has been shown significant improvement. The doctors are waiting for him to improve further to take him off the ventilator.
